How it all Began
We are not the founders of Give Me A Chance Equine Rescue, but it seems Give Me A Chance Equine Rescue found us. Located 10 miles east of Arkadelphia in the Manchester Community
In June of 2010 we took over the reins of Give Me A Chance Equine Rescue. We are just the average American couple who grew up loving horses.
Tom writes: My best friend, Emmet had a horse named Tumbleweed, (yup, a blue roan that looked like our rescue horse, Tumbleweed). Emmet and I grew up watching old western serials and played "cowboys" with Tumbleweed. Luckily the horse loved it. I was 5 years old when I was placed on the back of an old work horse named "Judge" after a long work day. Judge's owner told the horse "Go home, Judge." The horse took me home. I am 70 years old and a disabled Vietnam veteran. I've worn many hats, from Volkswagen mechanic to real estate salesman to painter.
Polly writes: I have always loved horses and all animals. As a child, I always wanted to own my own horse. I read every book that I could find about horses and spent hours sketching and drawing these beautiful creatures. I was 12 years old when I rode my first horse. Her name was "Du Ska" (Little Soul) and she was a sweet, gentle Morgan mare. It was a very happy memory. We have owned our own sweet, gentle "Shadow" since she was born. She is now almost 25 years old. We have always had animals in our lives. Farming and animal care are what we enjoy. We love to see our rescued horses blossom into beautiful, healthy and happy horses as they should be. It's magical to see horse and owner connect.
